The Power of the River of Character in Organizations
by Dr. Ray Benedetto

The quality of the river directly affects
organizational performance.

Is your company's "river" clean or "polluted"? Internal politics, micro-management, greed, arrogance, and self-interests create toxic organizational cultures that stifle innovation and from which employees can't wait to escape, taking with them their knowledge, skills, and abilities.

In contrast, when values such as trust, caring, respect, and responsibility permeate the river, relationships flourish among employees as well as with customers and suppliers. Character-based organizations nurture an organizational culture that speeds the pace of innovations for solutions to drive performance excellence that result in sustained growth and profitability.
